Letter Frames for Canva

A letter frame is a single letter cut out as a Canva frame, so a photo fills the shape of the letter. Pick a letter below, try a bold or a script font, and drop your photo in. The frame in Canva is made by the same engine.

Type something to see it as a frame.

Playfair Display

Same engine as Text to Frames in Canva. Your text and photo stay in this browser.

Opens Text to Frames inside Canva. Type the same text and pick Playfair Display there.

Questions

Can I do a whole name?

Yes. Type the name instead of one letter; the whole word becomes one frame. In the app, turn on Split into letters to give each letter its own photo.

Which fonts work best for a single letter?

Heavy fonts with wide strokes show the most photo: Anton, Bebas Neue, Alfa Slab One, Abril Fatface or a bold serif like Playfair Display. Thin fonts leave little room for the picture.

Is the preview the real frame?

Yes. The letter outline is extracted from the same font file with the same code the app uses, so what you see here is what Text to Frames adds to your design.
